Garrick Landfill

We accept the following sorted materials:
- wood, metal, wire, baler twine, household garbage,
- as well as fridge, deep freezer, air conditioner, washer, dryer,
- construction waste, 

We do not accept
- used oil, tires, batteries, electronics, carcasses, and paint cans.

​A Landfill Agreement Bylaw was passed on July 13, 2014 requiring a permit for the disposal of fridges, deep freezers, air conditioners, industrial waste, construction waste, and institutional waste. Permits will be issued and applicable fees accepted at each Municipal Office within the RM and at the landfill.

Applicable fees are as follows:
Appliances with halocarbons such as deepfreezers, air conditioners, and fridges - $20.00 for each appliance

Construction Waste Fees:
Half tonne truckload or trailer $10.00
3 tonne and tandem truckload $50.00
end dump truckload $100.00​

Did you know?

- Red rental garbage bins are for household garbage only

- Sorted materials are not to be disposed of in the pit, it will damage the compactor. 

- There is absolutely no scavenging at the landfill

- The landfill has video surveillance

- All loads must be tarped and secure when travelling on the highway

- The cost per capita for the landfill in 2013 was $23.00 per person for the year
